The Department released the following statement: DOR BEGINS REISSUING INCOME TAX REFUNDS,PROVIDES GUIDANCE FOR TAXPAYER REIMBURSEMENT

ATLANTA—The Department of Revenue announced today that it has begun reissuing income tax refunds to taxpayers affected by last Thursday’s income tax refund snafu.

“Refunds will be generated daily to taxpayers over the next seven days,” DOR Commissioner

Doug MacGinnitie said. “The Department takes this matter seriously and would like to apologize to all affected taxpayers.”

The Department also announced the reimbursement procedure for affected taxpayers who were assessed overdraft charges by their financial institution. The DOR is continuing to work with all financial institutions that are involved.
